Myeong-dong Street Food in Seoul, Korea

If you get off at Myeong-dong Station's Exit 8 or 9 and enter the alleyway, you can find a variety of street foods that catch your eye amidst the shopping malls. This is one of the places where you can feel the lively atmosphere of Myeongdong, and it is mainly run for foreign tourists.

Diverse and Trendy Street Eats

The biggest charm of Myeongdong street food is that the diverse menu changes with the seasons. Although it is aimed at tourists, it is sensitive to trends. Some foods have been loved for a long time, but many disappear quickly. Traditional Korean street foods include tteokbokki, eomuk (fish cake), hot dogs (fried food with a stick on it that you can hold and eat), and sundae (blood sausage). Sundae is hard to find here, but it is a common food sold at Korean snack bars.

These days, there are a variety of foods such as chicken skewers, lamb skewers, dumplings, ice cream rice cakes, and fresh squeezed orange juice. It's fun to look around and enjoy tasting them. Although the price is not cheap, the experience of eating freely on the street gives you a special memory. It is also good to fill your stomach when you are hungry while shopping or sightseeing.
